To reflect the promotion of the L1 last season, the coaching schedule of Newmarket Hockey Club has altered slightly:
Club pitch training will start on 8th Aug for L3, L4 at 7.30 – 8.30pm. L2, M2, M3 will be training from 8.30 – 9.30pm.
These sessions are planned and coaching goals are set. Please be warmed up ahead of start time to get full benefit from the session.
Pitch training for M1 & L1 will begin on 9th August at 7.00 – 9.00pm. The captains of these teams, or the appropriate rep, will be in contact with you if you are expected at this session. This will be ongoing throughout the season.
Preseason fitness training will continue on Tuesdays until 29th Aug.
L2, L3, L4, M2 and M3, who train on Tuesdays, will not be penalised if they continue at fitness over pitch training!
It is anticipated that M1 & L1, who are training on Wednesdays, will be able to cope with both fitness training on Tuesdays, and pitch elements, though we understand work/babysitters etc. may need some juggling. PLEASE contact your captain and keep communication up in this respect.
In September, M1 & L1 players will be approached to lend their experience and skills to pitch training on Tuesdays on a rota basis. A similar rota will be started for junior training which is expanding this year too. Players can learn much from other players and it is hoped the whole club will benefit from interaction across all training days.
