L3’s Miss Chances at Home

The team were on a high after a faultless start to the season, three wins from three, however Haverhill were always going to be a tough opposition based on previous experience.

The Ladies 3 had the better of the first half, with the majority of possession and chances, but were unable to convert them, leaving the game goalless at half time. The half time chat was obviously based around ‘more of the same, but lets convert those opportunities’.

Haverhill had a strong core and one player in particular would probably be suited better to a higher level, who ran through the team for their first goal and smashed home a short corner for their second.

Despite the setbacks, the Ladies 3 did not give up and battled to get back into the game, but to no avail. The final score of 2v0 did not reflect the overall course of the game but was a lesson in taking your chances.

Lessons to be learnt – being clinical in the D, looking for opportunities to pass around players, making the ball do the work,

Positives: We showed a resilience and spirit to be really proud of, there were some great individual performances, so keep your heads up for next week.

Lemon of the Match: Murron McCulloch for expertly picking up the ball and dribbling in the wrong direction up the pitch.

Player of the Match: Livvy Clarke for tireless working throughout the game and making it hard work for Haverhill whenever on the ball.

Team: GK – Amy Bradford, Sarah Ganiford, Jane Dryland, Jo Graham-Thompson, Vicky Benedikz, Emma Taylor, Emily Sargeant, Megan Malone, Maisy Swann, Livvy Clarke, Emily Graves, Natalie Rice and Murron McCulloch.
