Another win for the
Town
Newmarket set out to continue their winning ways in the Crowe
Insurance League and in the opening minutes Matt Wright netted with
an easy tap-in.
Town continued to push forward but were not playing well. Saints
defended well and it was proving a frustrating match for Newmarket.
However, Greg Cummings scored their second goal to give them
breathing space.
In
the second half Saints pressed and won a number of penalty corners
but Newmarket defended well and goalkeeper John Sutherland played
his part when required.
Newmarket continued to go for goals and eventually they came. Both
were scored by Will Wilson. one was from a short corner which he
flicked into the roof of the net and the second was a nice shot from
an acute angle. Barry Winters had another good game up front and was
unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
The match was played in excellent spirit but Newmarket will have to
improve on this showing if they want t carry on winning.
