We’re just over a month away from the annual NHC Christmas Party which is taking place on the 8th December at 7pm at The Tack Room. All you need to do is follow the link below and complete your choices for each person attending:

The price per person is – £32.00

The Tack Room, which is positioned within the grounds of the stunning new Palace House, the National Heritage Centre for Horse Racing and Sporting Art, opened in 2016 and is run by the same team that are also behind the popular Pantry Fine Food Shop and Eatery.

3 Course Dinner and Disco!!!

To start:
– Pork knuckle, apricot and pistachio terrine, panettone melba toast, mulled wine gel

– Jerusalem artichoke veloute, Douglas fir oil, toasted almonds, sourdough

– Beetroot cured salmon, salt baked beetroots, buttermilk, keta caviar

To follow:
– Roast crown of Norfolk bronze Turkey, seasonal vegetables, pigs in blankets, sage and chestnut stuffing, thyme roasted potatoes.

– Celeriac and wild mushroom tart, parsley and walnut, crumble, celeriac puree, sprout leaves, sage oil

– Seabass fillet, smoked pomme puree, lobster sauce, preserved lemon and parsley gremolata.

To finish:
– Ginger bread, clementine, Mince pie trifle, spiced orange sorbet

– Christmas pudding, brandy butter, sherry soaked cherries

– Salted caramel and chocolate brownie, salted caramel ice cream

Dear Newmarket Hockey Club Member,

NHC End of Season Party & Awards Night a Great Success

Where: The Bedford Lodge Hotel

What time: 7pm (for 7.45pm sit down)

How much: £40 per person for a three course meal, followed by tea, coffee and mints – the menu will be revealed soon!

NHC Quiz Night at The Boot is a Great Success

A good time was had by all at NHC’s latest social event last Saturday – one of our famous Quiz Nights. Everyone at the club would like to thank Social Secretary Grace Evans for her great work in organising, Chris Evans for acting as Quiz Master (and later bingo caller) and of course The Boot pub in Dullingham for being such fantastic hosts.

The competition was won by ‘Absent Friends’ after a hard-fought battle to the wire.

January Social – Quiz Night at The Boot

Senior members, Newmarket HC will be hosting the worlds most electric, enthralling and exciting Quiz Night ever, on the 20th January at The Boot pub in Dullingham at 7pm.

Teams are made up of a maximum of 6 people, however there is a limit of 8 teams on the night. If you’d like to be a part of something great, or experience a once in a lifetime opportunity, then please make sure you organise a team and let Grace Evans know. It will be a first come first serve basis.

This is destined to be a social event you don’t want to miss.

Price per person will be £5.00, which will also include Powters Sausages and Chips on each table.

NHC Victorious in Braintree Mixed 7s Tournament 2017

Newmarket Hockey Club won the Braintree Mixed 7-a-side Tournament last weekend. Drawing their first game, the team tasted defeat in their second but subsequently went on an epic run of form and took maximum points from their next seven matches, beating hot favourites Chelmsford 2-1 and finally clinching the trophy in dramatic fashion on goal difference.
